Less than 48 hours of 2023 left. A lot of other 'grounders have typed up their end-of-year post so I figured I should join in!

2023's highlight on the creative side of things was the trilogy of Dave & Carl long comics (here, here and here!) that I made to mark my 10th anniversary on Newgrounds. It was rather fun to make those two the main protagonists again, even if they were all technically flashbacks, but of course as you know my storytelling abilities are more focused on Potatoman these days. That's certainly where 2024's focus will be!

Christmas is a time to be thankful (moreso in Britain where we obviously don't have Thanksgiving). On the NG side of things I'm thankful that more than 760 of you (actively or otherwise) follow my page and my work. On the topic of thankfulness I can't avoid mentioning the updates to the Art Portal that took place a few months ago. For comic artists such as myself it's an insurmountable improvement. Multi-image posting and custom thumbnails for the win!

So yeah, thank you @TomFulp and @PsychoGoldfish for the overhaul. Back in 2013 I can recall even news posts were limited to a single image. How far we've come, eh? The thankfulness also extends to @midgetsausage for running the (as-yet unreleased) Sketch Collab this year and previous years. You might see a certain somebody taking part in that for the first time...

On a more personal side of things, I'm thankful to @Troisnyx for her friendship and support over the years. To both her and @SevenSize I'm also thankful for the cards I received! In pertinence to the latter, I've still got specks of glitter on my keyboard from typing this!

(And the wishes are indeed warm, this English winter is surprisingly mild)

I, too, am thankful to play a role in feeding those who find they can't financially support themselves thanks to our governing overlords. 2024 is an election year, but even if they're turfed out I'd be surprised to see any fundamental changes, such is the attitude of certain opposition figures...

Finally, I'm thankful to everyone and anyone who stopped by to read this text. Part of me wishes I hadn't wasted my fortnightly frontpage posting opportunity on the Potatoman: Realm of Ryksaw announcement but alas, first world problems aren't something I'll focus on.

Anyway, 2023's over and done with. In 2024 we're off to Whakistan!
