According to the screen, neither ammo, nor power cores have any weight to them. That's why I don't bother filling a pillow case with bullets and attempt to beat children to death with it. What would be the point?

I would, but what am I to do once my arms get tired and I need to rest? Sleep on an uncovered pillow and allow it to get dirty? What sort of monster do you think I am?!

This is why I keep my gear light unless I'm wearing power armor. I also keep plenty of stimpaks on hand.
