Curse this godforsaken clusterfuck of a calendar year.
2020-bashing aside, one thing I'm thankful for this year has been the fact that outdoor exercise has always remained permissible, even back in April when lockdown was at its lockdowniest. Hell, since I started going for runs I feel less and less like I miss the gym.
One thing I'm not thankful for, however, is what happened to this poor, innocent tree pictured below, as observed during one more-recent run...
...whoever did this, you're not an artist, you're an environmentally-unsound charlatan.
On the topic of art, you may have noticed I've been uploading stuff from my sketchbook more often for the past year or so. I'll be expecting that trend to continue into next year, too! When it came to comics, Captain Obnoxious got produced and released, the first real non-Potatoman/Dave & Carl foray into this universe of mine.
Turning to 2021, IZ88 will be in a similar vein, not to say certain characters and other elements from existing adventures won't pop-up along the way! What's better is that, by setting it in the eighties, I needn't have to load it with copious amounts of Covid jokes. I'm sure we're all sick and tired (but mostly sick) of all that malarkey by now.
So yeah, 15th of January is when the first chapter of that will drop. Having planned and written it as a four-parter, expect further chapters in April, July and October.
Seven years have passed since I made this account, in 2013. I joined Newgrounds more-or-less right in the middle of its dark ages. I came too late for the heyday, but since I joined, I've sensed an ongoing and very-much welcome reinvigoration of this independent hive of creativity. Even with the death of Flash, I can see this trend continuing. The people on this site, creators or otherwise, are the backbone of this community, hailing from a myriad of different backgrounds. To whoever stops by to read this post, thank you for being here.
Everything by Everyone. Immortal words.
Close-knit. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can see no way how you'd be able to apply that term to a single other big-ish website. Moreover, this site has been independently operated for a quarter of a century now. May it continue for the quarter-century more.
I'll end this post by providing a selection of out-of-context screenies from the first few offerings of mine coming in the new year. Make of them what you will.
Fingers crossed it'll be a Happy New Year.
